Where Can You Find the Best Beaches - #9

    1.Parga (Epirus, North Greece)

Picture a quaint little fishing village, complete with whitewashed and red-roofed houses, narrow, cobblestone streets, shops around the corner, and lively tavernas. The beach is beautiful – white sand, blue waters filled with colorful boats. This is Parga, a beautiful beach town located in the mountainous region of Epirus.

Compared to other beach towns popular among tourists, Parga is small but never crowded. The two was founded as the 13th Century was drawing to a close. Its first settlers were Mykenic invaders who were soon followed many times over by several other civilizations with varied cultures – Venetians, Turks, British, and French.

You can see hints of the various influences these people had on Parga, making it a complete delight to just walk around town and take in all the wondrous sights and sounds.

However, since you came to Parga for its beaches, the two most frequented are located on either side of town. Here, you can relax in sun loungers, protected from the sun by umbrellas. Other beaches can be found in Valtos, a popular beach for families, and Lichnos, which you can reach by water taxi or climbing the white washed steps past the bars and shops.
