    The Magic Of Delphi, Greece

    Delphi, Greece is one of the most popular archaeological places in the area. Just around 180 kilometers away from Athens, this is a very popular tourist destination when one is in Greece.

    Delphi, Greece got its meaning in ancient times. Historically, it was known to be the center of the world - the point where heaven and earth meet. It was believed that when you are on this part of Greece, you are much nearer to the gods.

    The place is considered to be magical, and had a mystery behind it - that ancient Greeks believed to be the work of the gods. This is where the famous oracle of Delphi was experienced. Being known to be the center of worship for the son of Zeus, Apollo, others continue to believe that his spirit still resides in the place.     Habitation in Delphi, Greece can be traced as early as the Neolithic era. Later it became an important center for religion and politics. This was around the later part of the Mycenaean period.

    The town of Delphi is located on the edge of a cliff. The sanctuary of Apollo can be found on its center. A theatre and a large stadium can be found in this part of Greece. Monuments are around the place, which brings you back to the great events in ancient Greek history. The museum of Delphi keeps their historical works of art, and a tour on this place will be well worth your time.

    Delphi, Greece also hosted many cultural activities whether this is theatrical plays, or athletic events such as the Pythian Games. This Pythian Games were scheduled every four years to honor Apollo. This made Delphi earn another mark in ancient Greece history.
